PPA Risks

Using any product that contains PPA increases your chances of suffering from a hemorrhagic stroke. PPA is a vasoconstrictor (i.e., it causes blood vessels to narrow) that slows the flow of blood to the brain, lungs and heart. As the flow of blood decreases, your blood vessels compensate by increasing the pressure so that an adequate blood supply continues to circulate through your body.

Greatly increased blood pressure can cause a blood vessel to rupture and bleed profusely. If this happens in the brain, such bleeding would cause a hemorrhagic stroke (literally "bleeding in the brain") that can have severe, even life-threatening, health consequences (See What is a stroke?)
